I request that appointments are booked no less than 24-hours prior to desired time and date. To accommodate this, my online booking calendar will only show available appointments available outside of the 24-hour window. When calling, texting or emailing to book an appointment, I ask that you please respect my booking policy.
In the event that you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, I kindly request that you cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Please call or text 306-631-8117 or email me at info@lisaloosmassagetherapy.com. You are also able to cancel appointments through your confirmation and reminder emails, if greater than 24 hours prior to your appointment.
If you do not cancel within this time frame, and you do not wish to keep your appointment, you may be subject to a $20.00 cancellation fee.
If you will be late for your mobile massage therapy appointment, please communicate with me. We can work out whether the appointment will be shortened (for the full cost of the original appointment) or need to be rescheduled.
Although rare, sometimes mobile massage therapy appointments are missed. When you book with me, that time is set aside for only you. I will never double book, and I will always try to be on time. In return, I ask that you keep your promise and be home for your appointment.
If you are not home for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be subject to a $20.00 missed appointment fee.
If determined that inclement weather, or other emergencies (power outages, road closures, personal safety concerns), will cause a threat to you or me, your appointment will be cancelled, with as much notice as possible. You will not be charged for the cancelled appointment, and will be offered to reschedule for the next available appointment.
Upon booking your first appointment, a health history form will be sent to your email. This form must be completed prior to your massage therapy appointment. If you do not complete the form prior to your appointment, the time needed to complete the form will be deducted from your appointment time.
As part of the Standards of Practice set out by my massage therapy association, it is required that you complete a health history form every 12 months. This helps to keep records up-to-date, as well as provides me with the most accurate information about your health. This also means that we can create a more effective treatment plan and I can provide the most effective massage therapy treatments possible.
Prior to each massage treatment, a treatment plan will be discussed. It is your responsibility to inform me of any medical treatments currently being taken and, if required, provide written permission from your physician/healthcare provider that massage therapy may be continued. You are also responsible for informing me of any health condition changes.
Patients under 18 years of age must have a Parent/Guardian consent form completed by their legal guardian(s).
All health information is collected and stored in compliance with Alberta's Health Information Act (HIA) and only shared with consent or as required by law.
All massage therapy appointments and conditions are confidential. Whatever is discussed throughout your appointment will not be discussed with anyone else, unless proper consent is received.
You may choose to talk or not talk throughout your massage, and I am happy to listen and share my professional expertise.
As a massage therapist, I am happy to adjust pressure, music volume, and time spent on a specific area or concern.
As the patient, you may choose to: leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, and stop the massage at any time. You will always be modestly draped, and only the area being massage will be undraped.
Occasionally, an emotional response to massage will occur. If this happens to you, you are in a safe and non-judgmental environment where it is okay to express your feelings. You can also request privacy and end the session immediately. You are in control.
The massage therapy services I provide are therapeutic massage services only. Any sexual interaction or discussion is NEVER appropriate. The massage will be terminated, the offender will be charged in full and banned from future services. Sexual contact or sexual assault will NOT be tolerated. The appointment will be ended immediately, and the offender will be reported to the proper authorities. Additionally, requests for sexual activity will NOT be tolerated. These requests will be viewed as solicitation and will be reported to the proper authorities. The appointment will be ended immediately. Patients will be charged in full, and will not be rescheduled.
Breast and genital area will not be massaged under any circumstances. Before working near these areas, permission will be asked; otherwise, a professional distance will be maintained.
If at any time the space the appointment is in becomes unsafe, even mid-appointment, it is within my rights to leave immediately and full payment will still be charged.
I am a registered massage therapist (RMT) in good standing with the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta. My practice meets their standards of practice. I also hold the City of Calgary Massage Practitioner License, and comply with all local bylaws. I am not a physician and cannot diagnose illness, disease, or any other physical or mental disorder. Massage therapy is not a substitution for a medical exam. If you have concerns about any conditions or ailments, it may be recommended that you visit your physician.
Lisa Loos Massage Therapy is committed to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for you and me. I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services to anyone whose behaviour, conduct, or requests are inappropriate, threatening, or harmful in any way. I stand firm in my values of dignity, professionalism, and integrity. Any conduct that undermines these principles may result in the appointment ending immediately, cancelling of future appointments, and removal from my patient list.
You can expect me to arrive approximately 5 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment start time. This allows for setup, and for me to speak with you regarding your treatment. If you will be running late, please let me know. Massages may be shortened or rescheduled to stay on schedule.
Please ensure there is a clear space available for the massage table with enough room around it for me to move freely. Please also communicate with me if there is designated parking, i.e. visitor parking or driveway parking. Although pets are welcome to be in the room, please let me know in advance if you have any dogs or cats.
Payment for your massage therapy appointment will be collected at the end of the appointment. At this time, I do not offer direct billing. You are responsible for the entire appointment fee, and will be provided with the appropriate information needed to submit to your extended health insurance.
If you would like me to charge a credit card you have on file, please let me know. Otherwise, I accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, INTERAC, Apple Pay, Google Pay and contactless-enabled cards, alongside cash payments.
Please do not feel obligated to tip. Although it is appreciated, it is in no means necessary or expected.
